These books were located on the ground floor of Murray library (University of Saskatchewan) that I have always adored. Right after the entrance, in front of the front desk and on two sides of the elevators, there are shelves that hold new titles and items that have been added to the library, and more recently they hold staff’s choices too.
These books get renewed regularly and look like a normal shelf you’d see in a library or bookstore. For someone who is observing their surroundings, I have placed three pocket-sized books that look a bit different than others. There is no title or author’s name on the cover of these hand-bound books. The concepts behind all these three is the process of creation, ideas, and the act of making from a young emerging artist’s perspective. The text is minimal, playful, and inspired by the methods used in modern children’s picture books. |
