From the exhibition “An underlying perplexity”
What am I trying to preserve? What is it that I need to remind myself of? What is in the past that I must remember? The answer was too long. If I had started writing them down, it'd make thousands of pages. What was the essence of them all? What do I need to not forget? Forgetfulness. In “Embodying A Memory” I have used 490 small jewelry price tags, wrapping them around an invisible thread, hanging across the wall. On the tags, I have written what I would write to remember them: “Yad Aar” means to “remember”, to bring memory back to life. I made 490 notes, wrote the reminder on all of them, a reminder not to forget, not even for a second. |
