From the exhibition “An underlying perplexity”
At first glance, the printed information resembles barcodes on receipts, but as you get closer you notice that there are words printed on them. Vertically written in reverse the word “return” (NRUTER) is being repeated. On top of them, in the opposite direction, the word بازگشت is written back-to-back which is equivalent to return in Farsi. We return commodities more than we realize, often the only rule for accepting a return request would be showing the order receipt and proving that the product is in its original condition. In “Homecoming” I have presented numerous receipts for a return, this time, there are many proofs of this transaction, my body is returning, but not as it got here. |
