From the exhibition “An underlying perplexity”
This work holds a clear replica of the key to our apartment back in Tehran that I had oddly brought here with myself. Made of epoxy resin, this key won’t open the door that the original metal key does. This key wouldn’t open a single room here, there are neither any locks, nor any doors to gift a purpose to this key. This dysfunctionality reminds me of an absence, the absence of a home that can’t be found anywhere else. |
